Who We Are

Sea Cadet Graduation

The National U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps Program

The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) is a non-profit leadership development program for youth ages 10 (5th grade) through the completion of high school. There are nearly 400 units in 46 states, Guam and Puerto Rico. Our cadets wear Navy uniforms and can train aboard naval ships and on naval bases. Our compelling training program occurs around the country during school vacations and covers various career fields. Our program changes lives by exposing cadets to new challenges and teaching them important skills like leadership and teamwork.

USS Rochester CA-124

Rochester CA-124 Division

Rochester CA-124 Division was founded in the 1990s. Our division is named for the U.S.S. Rochester (CA-124), one of the U.S. Navy’s last heavy cruisers, and the third Navy cruiser to bear the name of the city of Rochester, New York. (Learn more about the U.S.S. Rochester (CA-124) here.)

Our division is made up of a League Cadet company (NLCC) for ages 10-13 (grades 5-7) and Sea Cadet companies (NSCC) for ages 13-18 (grades 8-12) who drill together each month at the Navy Reserve Center on Paul Road in Rochester. We usually have 20-25 enlisted cadets onboard, along with 5-8 adult volunteers.

It is our honor to drill at the NRC at the same time as the Navy Reservists. We look forward to hearing from them as guest speakers, and observing them in their drill activities.
