Wreaths Retirement Work Detail

In December, some of our cadets and officers spent a very cold and snowy day participating in the Webster Area Cemeteries Wreaths Across America ceremony and placing wreaths on veterans’ graves. Now it is time to retire the wreaths. Rochester CA-124 Division has been asked to help remove wreaths on Saturday, March 14. Our help is always greatly appreciated!

Report Time: 1000 - remember to be 15 minutes early
Report Location: Webster Union Cemetery, 345 Webster Rd, Webster, NY 14580

Uniform: NWU III
Weather will dictate if black fleece parka liners or gloves or watch caps are necessary.

Community Service Hours: Community service credit will be added to your record book for your participation.

Lunch: Mission BBQ is providing lunch at Webster Union Cemetery following wreath retirement work detail.

Many hands make light work... families are invited to stay and help with the work detail and join the appreciation lunch. This is a great activity for younger siblings to see Sea Cadets in action!

Please report your attendance/participation ASAP. An accurate count for lunch must be provided to the event coordinator no later than Sunday, March 1.

East Rochester Veteran's Day Parade

Duty calls! Report your attendance up the chain! This is a very important public relations event, and we need you to be committed to showing up!  LPO and ALPO will follow up directly with Cadets or their parents who have not responded.

When: Tuesday, November 11, 2025 Parade begins at 1030. Meeting time 1000.

Where: Parade begins at 295 Main St, East Rochester, NY 14445 Eyer Building. Muster location TBA.

Parade ends at the gazebo at Edmund Lyon Park for ceremony.

The East Rochester American Legion Post #1917 has invited us to be part of their annual Veterans Day Parade and Observance Ceremony again this year. They are generous supporters of Rochester CA-124 Division, so our support of their event is important. Most of you do not have school on Veterans Day, but we understand that your parents may have to work. If you are able to attend, but need a ride, please tell your Company Commander. We may be able to do some carpooling/pick-ups for some of you.

Veterans Day honors all living and deceased U.S. military veterans for their courage, service, and sacrifice to the nation. It is a day to express gratitude to those who have served in times of both peace and war, acknowledging the personal sacrifices, such as giving up personal freedoms, for the greater good of the country. The day also serves as a reminder that the freedoms we have come at a cost and that we must continue to support veterans in their post-service lives. Sea Cadet’s Core Values are Honor. Respect. Commitment. Service. Participating in this parade and ceremony shows our dedication to these values.
