New Sea Cadet Uniforms

Click the images on this page to see a larger version of the uniforms. These pictures show you the exact way to wear and prepare your perfect uniform.
We have a Supply Officer. If your uniform does not fit properly, please work with the Supply Officer for alterations. These uniforms are property of the U.S. Navy. Never cut or permanently alter a uniform. Never use hem tape, glue or other adhesives on uniforms. Lost or damaged uniforms will result in a fee for replacement.
All cadet gear must be labeled with their last name immediately. You might consider purchasing these iron-on name labels.
NWU Type III (Navy Working Uniform Type III)
Provided by division - trousers (pants), blouse (shirt), recruit cover (ball cap), black web belt with silver buckle, black rigger belt, USNSCC tape, NSCC flashes, name tapes, blousing straps

Note: Upon completion of Recruit Training, cadets will turn in their recruit cover/ball cap, to receive their 8-point cover.
NWU Type I (Navy Working Uniform Type I) - “Blueberries”
This uniform is used as an alternate when NWU Type III uniform is unavailable or more than one uniform is needed for an activity.

These are only worn when directed for special field operations.

When you join, you pay a one-time fee for new PTU.
Provided by division - 2 gold/yellow t-shirts with Sea Cadet logo, 1 navy blue shorts with Sea Cadet logo

When you outgrow these items, you may choose to purchase new PTU or trade your PTU in to supply to receive pre-worn replacements at no charge.
Service Dress Blues (SDB) (Worn October-April)
Provided by division - jumper (top/blouse), trousers (pants), name tag, neckerchief, cover (dixie cup/hat), NSCC flashes

Notes:
Never unroll the neckerchief
SDB must be dry-cleaned only. Never machine wash at home.

Service Dress Whites (SDW) (Worn April-September)
Provided by division - same as SDB above, white web belt (silver buckle comes from the black web belt worn with NWU)

Other Issued Items
Green sea bag (duffle)
Black fleece parka liner
Cadets needs to provide these additional items
Canteen with belt (Regular water bottles are permitted at most unit activities)
Extra blousing straps (easy to lose, only one set is issued)
Black winter gloves (no logos of any kind)
Tent, sleeping bag, thin sleeping mat (for occasional overnight camping drills)
Navy blue swim trunks for males, one-piece navy blue swim suit for females
Final Note: When cadets attend national trainings, such as Recruit Training, they may need additional quantities of some of these standard uniform items. As well as, training-specific items like bedding and towels.
